Sandler Law Obtains Directed Verdict in Favor of Landlord Client

Sandler Law, P.A. successfully obtained a directed verdict in favor of its client Infinity Lakeside, LLC in a Broward County tenant dispute. The plaintiffs had vacated their apartment and subsequently sought the return of their security deposit, claiming financial loss following a plumbing incident at their apartment complex.

After the plaintiffs presented their case, attorney Theodore Sandler moved for a directed verdict on the grounds that the plaintiffs had failed to provide the required statutory notice to the landlord after leaving the unit under section 83.49, Florida Statutes. The Court agreed, finding that the plaintiffs had not met their burden of proof and entered judgment in favor of Infinity Lakeside without requiring the defense to present evidence. A copy of the order is available here: Collins – Directed Verdict.

This result underscores Sandler Law’s ability to identify and assert decisive legal defenses, saving clients from unnecessary litigation costs. The Court’s ruling confirms that even in emotionally charged disputes, clear legal standards prevail when evidence falls short.
